These forged Carrillo pistons by Ivey Engines are legal for SCCA Formula Ford effective 1 January 2025 per FCS 9.1.1.B.12.e.2. They are designed to be an exact replacement for the stock Ford pistons.
Beware of non-compliant pistons! Very similar pistons are currently on the market elsewhere, but only these genuine Ivey pistons are legal in SCCA.
Kent engine blocks started out with a 3.188" bore and cast pistons. Once forged pistons became available and worn blocks became commonplace through use, the 3.191" bore size was allowed by SCCA starting on 1 January 2025. After more wear and sleeving on many blocks, the "0.005" oversized" pistons at 3.196" bore size was allowed by SCCA starting 1 January 2007.
