This superb-quality quick-release steering wheel hub has virtually no play. This is the design used for many years by F1 and F3 constructors! A special asymmetric spline allows mating in only one orientation so you will never end up with a cock-eyed steering wheel. Releases easily with a spring-loaded sliding sleeve with four locking balls.
The hub and sleeve portion are CNC-machined aluminum, hard anodized for long life. The EN3B (SAE 1020) steel "slug" which gets welded and/or pinned to your steering shaft. The slug is 20mm (0.784") OD with a 6mm bore. If your steering shaft is larger than 7/8", bore a 20mm hole in the steering shaft and insert the slug. If the steering column is also 20mm OD, just add a sleeve over both.
