All Extreme systems use 3M™ Novec™ 1230 Fire Protection Fluid, a next generation halon replacement.
- Novec™ is non-toxic, so it's safe for the driver, unlike other Halon replacements. Perfect for confined spaces.
- It is stored as a liquid under pressure that releases as a gas, which means zero cleanup afterwards.
- Novec™ is ozone-friendly, non-corrosive (safe for electronics), alcohol-resistant (effective on methanol fires), and non-conductive (effective on Electric and Hybrid vehicles as well as Lithium battery fires)
- This system and other Novec™ systems are perfect for small aircraft, boats, or any other engine or electrical compartment that needs a safe and effective fire suppression system. Novec™ is widely used in the offshore oil and gas industry to protect electrical and machinery spaces.
- The system is charged with non-toxic nitrogen. Novec™ is a great absorber of nitrogen, so when the bottles are pressurized they are filled and then shaken to allow the Novec™ to absorb as much nitrogen as possible. Bottle is then left to settle, then pressure checked and topped up again with pressurized nitrogen. This process is repeated until full nitrogen absorption is achieved and bottle pressure is brought to the required level. If your systems gauge shows low and there are no leaks, a top up of nitrogen may be needed.

SFI 17.2 compliant system.
- Note that the SFI 17.2 standard requires fire systems to be inspected and re-certified every 2 years, with a maximum life span of 6 years. Most sanctioning bodies (including SCCA) will not accept a fire system that is past is service date.
Systems are charged at time of order, so no lost time on the certification. This means it could take between 2-10 business days for your order to ship (dependent on the amount of orders queued at the time of your order).
