This high-quality staking tool set is designed to install certain spherical bearings which have a groove on either face of the outer race ("Grumman groove"). Each set includes 2 pairs of anvil dies with a matching mandrel, one set to start the swage and one set to finish the swage.
Simply insert your bearing in your housing, assemble the starter dies and mandrel around the bearing, and use your hydraulic press to stake the bearing in place. The die set stakes both sides of the bearing simultaneously. Repeat with the finishing dies, and inspect. (Proofing tools are also available separately to test that your assembly meets design requirements.)These tools are specifically designed to fit certain SAE-sized "wide series" spherical bearings with a staking groove on either side of the outer race (Aurora AWC-xTG or PWB-xTG, Pegasus 3070-xG, NHBB ABWT-xV or ADWxV, or any other brand meeting Mil Spec MS14103). When done properly, the installation should meet NAS 0331 Method 100 and MIL-STD-1999 requirements.
