An offset (eccentric) camshaft sprocket dowel for Ford Kent and Lotus Twin Cam engines. It takes the place of the standard locating dowel and moves the sprocket by a set number of degrees, so you can advance or retard cam timing without fitting an adjustable vernier sprocket. Choose the offset you need, from 1 to 9 degrees.
Check your sprocket: some sprockets have been opened up to a 0.437 in. hole to take an offset bushing instead. Those need a bushing, not this dowel.
Degree the cam with a degree wheel and dial gauge and compare the result against the cam card. Each dowel moves timing by exactly its stated amount, so pick the one that matches the correction you need. Check which way round the dowel sits before final assembly: fitted the wrong way, it moves timing in the opposite direction.
