Tilton's proven 3-in-1 remote fluid reservoir consolidates front brake, rear brake, and clutch fluid into a single firewall-mounted unit. Fiberglass-reinforced nylon construction, three fully independent internal chambers, leak-proof baffled lids, and male -4AN outlets for braided line plumbing. The value-packed alternative to Tilton's billet aluminum reservoir — and the end of cluttered triple-reservoir setups.

Tilton 72-577 3-Chamber Plastic Reservoir – Three Reservoirs, One Clean Package
There's no longer a reason to zip-tie three separate plastic bottles to your chassis. The Tilton 3-chamber plastic reservoir combines the front brake, rear brake, and clutch fluid supplies into one compact, firewall-mounted unit — incorporating many of the features found in Tilton's billet aluminum 3-chamber reservoir at a price that fits club racing and grassroots budgets.
Part number 72-577 is the -4AN fitting version, with three male AN-4 threaded outlets ready to accept braided stainless plumbing straight to your master cylinders. (If you plan to plumb with push-on rubber hose and clamps instead, see sister part 72-576.)
Three Truly Independent Chambers
This is the feature that matters when things go wrong on track: the three internal reservoirs are completely separated. A failure in one hydraulic circuit can drain its chamber entirely without affecting the fluid supply of the remaining two. Lose a rear brake line and you still have a full front-brake reservoir and a working clutch to get the car home. That's genuine redundancy you don't get from a shared-body reservoir.
Built for the Race Environment
- Fiberglass-reinforced nylon body — high strength and durability with excellent resistance to brake fluid, heat, and vibration, at a fraction of the weight and cost of billet aluminum
- Leak-proof baffle design — keeps fluid in the reservoir and at the pickups under hard cornering, braking, and acceleration loads
- Gasket-sealed removable lid — opens for easy cleaning and fast fluid changes between sessions, then seals tight
- Integrated debris screens in the lid — prevent nuts, bolts, and other foreign objects from falling into the fluid during checks or filling
- Fluid level indicator windows — check all three levels at a glance during pre-session inspection, no lid removal required
- Simple 2-hole mount — bolts flat to any firewall or bulkhead in minutes
Chamber Capacities
| Chamber (typical use) | Capacity (oz) | Capacity (ml) |
|---|
| Front brakes | 9.8 oz | 289 ml |
| Rear brakes | 6.3 oz | 186 ml |
| Clutch | 4.0 oz | 118 ml |
| Total | 20.1 oz | 593 ml |
The staggered capacities are deliberate: the largest chamber feeds the front brakes (the circuit that consumes the most fluid as front pads wear down), the mid-size chamber covers the rears, and the smallest supplies the clutch master cylinder.

Important Plumbing Note
Hose material matters. Tilton specifies that only PTFE, EPDM, or SBR hose may be used with this reservoir. Standard rubber fuel hose and many generic hoses are not compatible with brake fluid and will degrade, contaminating the hydraulic system. For the 72-577's AN-4 outlets, PTFE-lined braided stainless hose is the standard choice.
Why Run a 3-Chamber Reservoir?
On a pedal-box or floor-mount master cylinder setup, remote reservoirs are a necessity — and running three separate bottles means three mounting points, three lids to check, and a cluttered footwell or firewall. Tilton's 3-chamber design gives you one mounting location, one glance to verify all three fluid levels, and a cleaner, more professional engine bay or cockpit — with the safety of fully isolated circuits. It's a staple on purpose-built race cars for good reason, and it's been a Tilton catalog favorite for decades.
