The steel thrust plate that bolts to the front of the block, holds the camshaft in place and controls its end float on Ford 1.6L Kent OHV engines (it is the jackshaft thrust plate on the Lotus Twin Cam and Cosworth BD). If camshaft end float is more than 0.0075 in., replace the plate: excess end float can cause erratic ignition timing and timing chain wear.
The retaining bolts are locked with the FP608 lock tab, which should be replaced every time this plate is removed. Sold individually.
